It is good to know Langkawi Climate as well as Langkawi weather before you travel to this island, so that you can be well prepared and get the best holidays you want. Though Langkawi Island is one of the islands in Malaysia, its climate and weather is not similar the others. For instance, if you have great information on Redang Island climate and weather, it doesn’t mean that you can use that information on Langkawi Island.
As Langkawi Island is located at the northern side of Malaysia, therefore it is shielded from most of the winds and storms by Peninsular Malaysia and Sumatra; hence its climate is rather stable if compared with other islands in the country. Temperatures are quite stable during the day, there is rarely fluctuates throughout the year too, making this island a place that suitable for tourist anytime of the year. You can expect temperatures between 30°C to 35°C at day time, and between 28°C – 29°C at night.
Although Langkawi has no monsoon, it has the most rainfall between September and October. Hence, if you are looking for sunshine and beaches, try to avoid visiting Langkawi in these 2 months. However, if you prefer a more romantic holiday, it is not a bad idea to travel to this island at these period. Do keep in mind that although September and October have the most rainfall, it doesn’t mean that it rains all day long. You will enjoy a more windy and moisture holiday if you choose to travel to Langkawi during these months.
The best time to visit the island is between April till August, where the island is getting a balance of sunshine and mild rainfall. Little tips here, as Langkawi is a pretty warm and humid island, it is advisable to wear light cotton clothes and remember to bring along your sun block and sun glasses.
